Hands. To me, hands are absolutely amazing. Every set of hands are individuals, from our fingerprints, to the length of our fingers, our joints, to the creases, freckles, scars, and calluses. They can tell stories of where you’ve been, what you’ve been through, what your profession is, and how old you are. You can talk through them; a gentle squeeze could mean “everything will be okay”, a specific “motion” could show someone you’re angry, or you could literally talk with them through sign language. They can show signs of romance by holding your partners hands or show nervousness by fidgeting around. Without hands, life would be challenging. We use them to eat, to brush our teeth, to type, to write, to paint, to hold a camera. I never really thought about how amazing hands are until tonight, and I have to say I am so thankful to have them.
